Help Shape Local and State Strategies to Address the Economic and Workforce Development Needs within the Greater Aurora/Fox Valley Area
Current sponsors include the Aurora Area Jobs Council, Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce, City of Aurora, Family Focus Aurora, Quad County African American Chamber of Commerce, Quad County Urban League, River Valley Workforce Investment Board, Valley Industrial Association, Waubonsee Community College, West Suburban Jobs Council, and the Illinois Works for the Future Campaign.
WHEN: Wednesday, June 9th
TIME: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (Registration and Networking will begin at 8:30.)
WHERE: Prisco Community Center, 150 W. Illinois Ave., in Aurora, IL
Community Leaders are invited to discuss:
- Strategies to increase the effectiveness of workforce and economic development in the Greater Aurora/Fox Valley region, including alignment of local job training and education programs to the needs of economic development in the region
- Policy recommendations for state/local policymakers that will address the current challenges in our region
- An action plan to implement the initiatives that emerge from your feedback during the forum.
This event is coordinated with the Illinois Works for the Future Campaign who will gather information from this forum to develop its state advocacy priorities.
